Dr. Daniel Hayes
Dr. Hayes received his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. Following graduation, he obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He and his wife, Laura, have recently married and moved to the area where they are excited about building the practice and becoming involved in the community. In addition to seeing patients at Nolensville Family EyeCare, Dr. Hayes also services patients in assisted living facilities and nursing homes across Middle Tennessee. He is an avid sports fan, who especially enjoys Auburn Football!
He chose optometry because the profession “allows you to develop a personal relationship with patients while making a positive impact on their life.”
Dr. Evan Shields
Born in Louisville, KY, Dr. Evan Shields completed his undergraduate studies at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN prior to finishing his studies at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He completed an externship in Ocular Disease at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Kentucky and Indiana, as well as clinical rotations in Pediatrics, Vision Therapy, Contact Lenses and Primary Care. He is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor society and graduated with honors from Southern College of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Shields focuses on family eye care with special emphasis in contact lenses, medical optometry and pediatrics. He is a member of the Institute for Control of Eye Myopia in Children and is also a participating provider in the InfantSee program.
